Canyonlands and Arches
Multisport Tour

Hike, Bike, Kayak, Rock Climb and Canyoneer

Prepare for the ultimate adventure getaway of non-stop excitement. Set in the heart of southeast Utah's dramatic Canyon Country, this multi-sport adventure will introduce you to rock climbing, inflatable kayaking, canyoneering, mountain biking, and hiking. No prior experience necessary--just an appetite for new adventures! Available in inn, camping and inn & camping versions, this trip is among the favorites of our guides.

Day 1 Arches. Witness a fantasyland of balanced rocks, natural arches, and surrealistic sculptures carved through the ages by wind and water and explore slickrock grottoes and narrow slot canyons in the mysterious Fiery Furnace.

Day 2 Klondike Bluffs. Switch to pedal power and an introduction to slickrock biking with a classic ride to magnificent Klondike Bluffs. A short hike then ascends the cliffs above the Colorado River. The sweeping panorama includes distant arches, the snow-capped La Sal Mountains, and the sandstone fins and domes of tilted Poison Spider Mesa.

Day 3 Canyonlands. Deep into the backcountry we follow a footpath past soaring monuments and spectacular amphitheaters full of colorful pinnacles. Looking for more adventure? The Joint Trail winds through a maze of deep, narrow crevices--some only two feet wide within a massive rock expanse.

Day 4 Colorado River Gorge-Fisher Towers. Strap on a climbing harness for an introduction to the sport of rock climbing. Learn the fundamentals in the morning--equipment, terminology, and belaying--and progress to several basic climbs. Then hike to soaring Fisher Towers, the setting for several western movies.

Day 5 Onion Creek-Colorado River. Ride through the Onion Creek Narrows, a chasm carved in colorful sandstone. Technically easy, the ride has 27 fun stream crossings. Next up is inflatable kayaking on the rolling waters of the Colorado River. Savor this fresh new perspective of canyon country and gaze at riverside monuments and buttes, keeping a sharp lookout for deer and eagles.

Day 6 Medieval and Negro Bill Canyons. Experience a day of introductory canyoneering in Medieval Canyon under the care of exceptional instructors. Next we rappel off Morning Glory Arch, the world's fourth largest. This is one of the most spectacular settings for rappelling to be found anywhere!

Inn Highlights: Southwestern luxury in the heart of Moab defines the Gonzo Inn with its spacious rooms and welcoming pool and spa.Sitting along a bend in the Colorado River known as "White Rapids," Red Cliffs Lodge is a great base for recreational activity. Once a ranch, the lodge has served as a movie set for many classic films as well as several John Wayne movies.
