South Africa Multi-Sport Tour and Wildlife Safari

Bush Walk, Game Drive, Hike, Bike, Raft, Kayak, Swim and Taste Wine!

Track big game in Kruger National Park, ride an elephant through the African bush, zip-line through primeval rainforest, tipple in the Cape's world famous vineyards, explore the glorious beaches and cityscapes of Cape Town, kayak with penguins and bike to the tip of Africa!

Days 1-5 Panorama Route-Kruger-Sabie River-Kapama
We drive across the Drakensberg Escarpment to Thornhill Safari Lodge, our home for four nights. We enjoy dinner and a dramatic firelight show at the Shangaan Cultural Village. A game safari in world renowned Kruger National Park provides the opportunity to see all of Africa's famed Big 5--lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino--plus hippos, crocs, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, wild dogs, wildebeest, cheetah, impala, baboons and over 500 species of birds. We raft the Sabie River with its gentle Class II rapids, lush scenery and outstanding bird life. Choose from a visit to the Kapama Cheetah Rehabilitation Center, a micro-ligh flight over the Blyde River Canyon, an elephasnt back ride through the bush or a hot air balloon flight on your free day.

Days 6-9 Garden Route-Tsitsikamma-Knysna-Stellenbosch
A flight to the seaside town of Port Elizabeth leads to the "Garden Route" and Tsitikamma National Park. Experience a thrilling zip-line forest canopy tour--no experience necessary--through giant yellowwood trees over 200 feet tall. We visit Bloukrans Bridge, where adrenaline junkies can take the 7-second, 600-foot freefall on the world's highest bungee jump. A visit to the Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Center allows us to meet captive-bred cheetahs and the rare anthill tiger. Then we're off on mountain bikes to explore the Knysna Coast. Lush forests, a peaceful lagoon and dramatic sandstone cliffs make this one of the most memorable shorelines in South Africa. Then it's off to Stellenbosch and the heart of the famous Cape Winelands. We stop at vineyards along the way to stretch our legs and sample the local wines that make this region world renowned.

Days 10-12 Cape Town-Table Mountain-Cape Point

We're off to legendary Cape Town, justly famous for the beauty of its setting at the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and for its unique mix of European, African and Asian cultures. Take a cable car ride up Table Mountain, the signature landmark that dominates the city. A city tour provides time for buying local art, crafts and fabrics from almost every country in Africa and to enjoy the bustle and excitement of street artists, sidewalk cafes and trendy restaurants. Lastly, we kayak, swim, snorkel, visit a penguin colony and bike and hike to Cape Point, the tip of Africa.
