Hi Larry,

How's your summer going? Any good trips lately? I've been putting the SOAR 16 to good
use over the past couple of months. I ran the Verde River in AZ from Childs to Horseshoe
Reservoir in early May... we only had to drag a couple of times. I was
amazed at how well the boat did in low water, with a moderately heavy load. The fishing for
smallmouth bass was excellent and I've gotten the go ahead for a feature article on this trip
to run in SW Fly Fishing magazine ( www.matchthehatch.com ) in '10... the SOAR will
undoubtedly have a photo presence in this piece and I'll tout it as THE boat to have.

Just last week some friends and I ran Montanas Smith River through its 60 mile canyon
stretch. This is a class I, low water, but there are some strainers and pushy cliffside runs to
keep you on your toes. The SOAR saved the trip, literally. The paddle raft that one of our group
members brought was a joke, it couldn't carry anything besides its two passengers... and
struggled even with that. The SOAR ended up with the cooler, dry bag and dry box along with
the even larger cooler, dry box and dry bags that were suppsed to be on the raft! I'm guessing
that with the two men in the boat and all the gear we were pusing the boats 1000 lb capacity early
on in the trip. Despite this I was able to fish from the front of the boat quite comfortably while the boat
was controlled by a single paddle from the back. We'll be running a photo essay in our upcoming
Sept/Oct issue of the Smith River and I'll be sure there is a photo of a SOAR!
