Jungle
Rot
Probably the best to illustrate to gruesome details of the
jungle rot that a lot of people got in Fiji is to show you a picture.

These
feet are bad, and needless to say painful to walk on. Believe it or
not, there were some feet that were worse.
I
think the multiple days of wading through water had an affect on the
feet this year. Jungle rot was one of the major contributors causing
teams to drop out of the race.

Giardia
This is a small protozoa that lives in water. If you don't
treat the water you get from streams and lakes you could be exposing your
insides to this little organism. Once inside, you will know it by the
tell tale sign of diarrhea.
I treated giardia with Flagyl. This is the normal treatment
once you get it. Some Immodium can help battle the symptoms.
