Alyeska, AK Update April 9-16, 2007

We had a great group skiing with Victor for this course. Everyone was able to work on their skiing on some good snow and interesting snow. We had a local showing us around, which was great. Everyone enjoyed the experience of having the Alyeska resort to themselves (or pratically) for most of the day. We found some good corn snow too. We were able to see the beauty of the Chugach Mountains on the cat and make some fun turns out in the amazing mountains. We were able to get some fun runs in on the North side and Christmas chute.

"At breakfast on the first day I was the only participant who had never attended a NASTC camp. I have always felt that my skiing would benefit from an intense several day learning environment. I can't say that I picked up on everything that was presented but I am positive that my skiing benefited from the experience. I was already an enthusiastic skier but the enthusiasm of the participants and staff has me wishing that the season was just beginning rather than winding down. You will see me at another camp soon." Jim, NASTC skier and Alaska local.

After 5 days of skiing, everyone has a smile on their face. The group is on the tram going up to The Seven Glaciers restaurant for some good food, laughter, and NASTC raffle.
