In partnership with the historic Royal Gorge Route Railroad, we are offering a combination of a scenic train ride through the Royal Gorge with a ½ day Bighorn Sheep Canyon whitewater rafting trip. NEW ITINERARY FOR 2008! Fun for the whole family! Enjoy a 10 mile rafting trip through Bighorn Sheep Canyon with several exciting Class III and IV rapids like 3 Rocks, Spikebuck and Shark's Tooth in the morning. You may also choose our Cottonwood Family Float as part of this package. This is the perfect package for families with kids as young as 5 years old and weigh at least 35 pounds. After returning to our scenic, riverside base in Cotopaxi, you will enjoy a hearty BBQ steak or chicken lunch at our shady picnic area. Watch for Bighorn sheep who are frequently on our Cotopaxi cliffs. Then you will receive your voucher for the 3:30 departure of the Royal Gorge Route train for a spectacular 24 mile round trip train ride through the world famous Royal Gorge. This train ride follows the Arkansas River as it carves through a 1000 foot deep gorge. MEETING PLACE: You will meet at Arkansas River Tours in Cotopaxi, CO at 8:30 am to sign in and be outfitted with rafting gear for your 1/2 day whitewater rafting trip. If you choose the Cottonwood Family Float trip you will meet at 9:30 am. After lunch at our riverside base, you will drive to the Sante Fe Depot in Canon City at 401 Water St. to pick up your tickets and board the train at 3:00 for a 3:30 departure.
