Group Leader Guidelines:

  1. We require you to collect from each individual in your group and pay the deposit and balance with one check or credit card. Please use the roster to help keep track of payments from your group members.
  2. A $50/per person/day deposit reserves the trip for your group due at the time the reservation is made. The balance is due two weeks before your trip.
  3. Group sizes are minimums and you must reach that number to qualify. Should the group size change at any time, the discount will change accordingly.
  4. A helpful suggestion: Collect at least a deposit, if not the full amount from the people in your group when they sign up. It will give you an idea of how serious they are and they will realize that they have made a commitment. If a person cancels, they can find a replacement. Make everyone aware of the cancellation policy (as seen below) so if they do cancel, they will understand the penalties incurred.
  5. We have posters if you need them to advertise your trip.
  6. Once you arrive, CBOC will do the rest. You can sit back, relax and enjoy a great rafting adventure!!

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be made in writing (email OK) and must be received by our office not later than 30 days prior to the trip for a refund less cancellation fee of $25 per person/day. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the trip are not eligible for refunds, however, someone else may take your place without penalty as long as we are notified not less than 48 hours prior to the trip. Deposits from partial group cancellations may not be applied to remaining participants. Trip cancellation insurance will protect you in the event of a medical emergency. Contact your travel agent or call this office for an application.

On very rare occasions, we must cancel a trip due to weather, unusual river conditions, or other factors beyond our control. Should this become necessary, your money will be fully credited towards another or alternate trip. If we must cancel the trip because of insufficient reservations, your money will be fully refunded. In such cases refunds and credits shall be limited to amounts actually paid to CBOC and will not include any other expenses incurred by the trip participants.

If you make additional bookings, such as Bed & Breakfast reservations, you will be subject to their cancellation policies which are generally more stringent.

Water flows in the South Fork American River result from releases from hydroelectric facilities located upstream. Such water releases are not subject to the control of El Dorado County or commercial rafting companies operating under permits from the County of El Dorado. Chili Bar Outdoor Center operates under permits of El Dorado County, California State Parks, the Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Forest Service. CBOC is an equal opportunity outfitter and is a member of America Outdoors and California Outdoors.
